DAY 1 Friday - Kent
Departing London, we discover the magnificent Royal Society Gardens at Wisley whose gardens will please every aspiring botanist.  Our next stop is Hever Castle which is many people's idea of what a 'real' castle should look like, from its gateway to its surrounding moat. Dating back to 1270, it was family home of one of Henry VIII's ill-fated wives (Anne Boleyn).  With a 30-acre garden including a unique Italian garden filled with roses, there's plenty to admire here. (D) Overnight: Kent

Day 2 Saturday - Kent
This morning we discover the story of the fateful 1066 Battle of Hastings and stand on the very spot where King Harold was slain. We shall then travel to the magnificently preserved 14th century Bodiam Castle which looks like something out of a fairytale. The final destination today is the fabulous Sissinghurst Castle with its world famous garden. We have plenty of time to explore this intimate garden and to visit those parts of Vita Sackville-West’s home open to the public. (B) Overnight: Kent

Day 3 Sunday - Kent
Enjoy a relaxing morning start before a fascinating day ahead. First on our itinerary is the 14^th Century Scotney Castle, which includes England's most romantic garden, a moat and 311 hectares of beautiful estate parkland. We then travel to Knole, one of England's great 'treasure houses,' with Royal Stuart furnishings and an impressive art collection. Winston Churchill's home of Chartwell does not require an introduction! What makes it such a memorable visit is not only the view from the garden but the fact that the interior is almost as he left it. The tour ends back in London late afternoon at one of our tour hotels. (B)
